Kayla & Steven were wed on May 11th, 2019. The entire day was relaxed but filled with so much fun! Their venue featured romantic string lights, separate bride and groom getting ready silos, and the cutest long haired cows! Light lavender & gold details tied together with an abundance of natural greenery and wooden elements to create the perfect rustic vibe. Kayla & Steven used her parent’s wedding glasses during toasts and Kayla’s mom even sewed a piece of her own wedding dress into Kayla’s so that “she’ll always be with her.” It’s the emotion that goes into details like that, that makes capturing a wedding day so so special. Head to the blog to see more images from Kayla & Steven’s gorgeous wedding day!
While Kayla was putting the finishing touches on her bridal look, Steven was in the groom’s silo putting the finishing touches on his vows! He wanted them to be perfect and let me tell you, they really were!
Before heading out to meet her groom, Kayla shared a special first look with her father and it was so so sweet! Not only was Kayla the most chill, go-with-the-flow bride ever, but she looked drop dead gorgeous in her beaded halter dress.
Finally, it was time for Kayla & Steven’s first look! They were both so excited to finally see each other and were absolutely glowing during all of their portraits! It’s so easy to see how happy and in love they are <3
As we were heading back to the barn to meet the rest of the wedding party, Kayla & Steven both let out a huge sigh of relief. They told me that they didn’t initially think they would share a first look, but were so glad they did!!! Not only did it ease their nerves, but it allowed them to share that special time together before the rest of the day commenced. It was also perfect because it allowed me to capture all of their portraits before the spring rain rolled in for rest of the day! Lots of good luck for these two 😉
Due to the weather, Kayla & Steven’s ceremony was moved indoors but it was impossible to be disappointed because it SO beautiful! Kayla & Steven wrote personal vows to each other (my favorite!) and laughed about their first date (where Steven made only chicken, no sides haha) Kayla’s brother announced them as Mr. & Mrs. Deckard and they sealed their love with a kiss!
The rest of the day was one big party! Kayla & her dad had a father/daughter dance turned RAP BATTLE and Steven and his mom busted out some groovy moves. At one point, the guests even huddled up and circled around Kayla & Steven while belting out “The Piano Man”. It was freakin’ awesome. The dance floor was packed all night until the DJ played “Kokomo” by the Beach Boys — cueing everyone that it was time for the newlyweds to head to Aruba for their honeymoon!
Kayla & Steven, thank you so so so much for inviting me to capture your love story. It was a complete honor and I will cherish you guys and your special day forever and ever!!!
