Ya know when you see a couple together and you just can’t help but smile because they’re so perfect for each other? That’s Matty & Riley. I don’t know if I’ve ever cried more or laughed harder than I did with them! Their easy-going, fun-filled wedding at Heritage Farm Events was complete with fluffy alpacas, an unplugged ceremony, and the sweetest moments with their families <3 Enjoy a recap on their special day below!
Not only did Matty and her bridesmaids look STUNNING, but they’re the sweetest girls ever. We were having so much fun I wanted to grab a dress & bouquet and join them! 😛 While capturing their beauty, the boys spent their morning enjoying a couple beers and games of cornhole at the historic farmhouse on the property. They definitely had fun too!
Matty & Riley had a glorious outdoor, unplugged ceremony. Wait until you see their reaction to each other walking down the aisle!
I love following a couple after they walk back down the aisle to capture those exciting “just married” moments! After embracing all of their wedding party, we all headed out for portraits, which are some of my favorites of all time! Everyone was constantly laughing and goofing around and we just had the best time celebrating the newlyweds, alpacas included!
Wedding day beer shotgun for the win! As the light started the fade, Matty & Riley headed into their white tent reception which was decorated with simple gold, glass, and greenery details. They shared their first dance to “Overjoyed” by Matchbox Twenty – which I had never heard before but absolutely fell in love with!
Though the entire day was filled with many laughs and heartfelt tears, this next moment was one of the most touching I’ve ever witnessed. After Matty & Riley’s first dance, Matty’s mom shared how when Matty was a young girl, her and her grandfather had a tradition of driving to gymnastics class, stopping afterwards at McDonald’s for a hamburger, and listening to George Strait’s “I Just Want to Dance with You.” A few short months before the wedding, Matty’s grandpa was diagnosed with cancer but was determined to put up a fight. He knew he had to battle through it to surprise his granddaughter with a dance to their favorite song. Little did he know, that Matty was also planning on sharing this dance with him. As they took the floor, there was not a dry eye in the room. While my eyes well up again even writing this, I find comfort that they were able to share these precious and irreplaceable moments together before Matty’s grandfather passed away a few weeks later. You can see just how much he loved his granddaughter. Grandpa Bill’s legacy will be remembered & cherished by his family for generations to come <3
Matty & Riley took a few minutes to themselves to soak up their first sunset as husband and wife. Afterwards, Riley’s dad brought out an old bottle of whiskey that he’d been saving for this exact day. I feel the start of a new tradition coming on in the Haupert family! Then, it was back to the reception to conquer the dance floor!
Matty & Riley — you two have the crazy in-love, shout it from the rooftops, kind of relationship and I hope that you continue to hold that dear as you continue your futures together. Thank you trusting me with documenting your big day as I had the absolute best time! Cheers to you, Mr. & Mrs. Haupert!
