Alison + Cody | An Autumn Orchard Wedding | Wea Creek Orchard

On September 9th, 2017, the sun was shining, kids were running through the orchard laughing, and you could feel the excitement in the air. The day had finally arrived... Alison & Cody were getting married!

Everything about Alison & Cody's wedding day at Wea Creek Orchard was absolutely perfect. Beautiful weather, an old red barn, a flowing white dress, fluffy florals, a radiant bride, a dashing groom, pretty ladies in pink, handsome guys in grey, and a joyous crowd of friends and family. Even all of the little details, like the mismatched blush bridesmaid dresses and the Mary Lou donut tower, came together flawlessly to create a beautiful blend of chic and rustic. It was the perfect conditions for saying "I do", if you ask me :)

Maria's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

Even though the location and styling play a role in curating the perfect session; I always stay focused on the people I'm capturing to make them feel as amazing as they already are. I had so much fun hanging out with Maria and her mom a few weeks ago! We had to reschedule Maria's senior session a few times due to rain, but I'm so glad we waited for the right weather. We ended up shooting on the most beautiful September evening! Not only were the conditions perfect, but the company was great as well! Maria is so kind, intelligent, and has the best smile. I seriously love every single laughing shot I got of her (and there were a LOT) because she looked so genienly happy about life! I already know that Maria is going to do big things with her future, and I can't wait to see where her dreams will take her! Enjoy some of my favorite shots from her senior session!

Kiersten & Roger | Engaged | Lafayette

I'm so excited to be sharing Kiersten & Roger's engagement session today! These two have the cutest love story. They have been best friends since middle school and have been dating for the past 7 years. This past Christmas, Kiersten and her family were opening presents, when Roger surprised her with a small, square box. Kiersten opened it up to find a beautiful diamond ring! He proposed, she said yes, and now they get to spend forever together!

Kylie's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

Fun Fact: all locations that we shot at were within a 5 minute walking radius of my apartment! Ever since falling in love with photography in junior high, I've always loved challenging myself to make use of whatever locations were around me. When you find a fountain, a vine covered church, a wooden wall, and a skyline view all in one spot, it's so easy for a two hour shoot to fly by, which is exactly what happened during Kylie's shoot!

Besties Take Europe | Study Abroad Week 8 | Bruges and Brussels, Belgium & Paris, France

You know you have a great friend when they buy a plane ticket to visit you in Paris before you've even boughten your own flight! My friend Kacy flew all the way to Paris for her spring break and we had such a fun week together! Before she arrived, I gave Kacy very specific instructions on how to get from the huge Charles de Gaulle airport, to my apartment on the other side of the city. Little did she know that I was actually planning on surprising her at the airport! I learned though that surprising people at the airport isn't as easy as it sounds, especially when you don't have phone service!

My House in Buda or Pest? | Study Abroad Week 7 | Budapest, Hungary

During week 7 of studying abroad, I had my normal classes in Paris during the week, and then headed to Budapest for a short weekend getaway! Budapest was a city that I had heard so much about, but didn’t know exactly what to expect. After spending just three short days there, it instantly became one of my favorite European cities that I’ve traveled to thus far! The weather was gorgeous, the sights were awesome, and the overall vibe of the city was so laid-back! One of the coolest things about Budapest is the thermal baths (see iPhone pictures below!)

3 Countries. 1 Week. Let's Go! | Study Abroad Weeks 3 & 4 | Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris

Hey there! So, this post is just a weeee bit late (okay like 2 weeks late) but it’s because I was in 3 different countries within one week, so I had a ton of pictures to compile together! In Europe, there’s this incredible thing called “ski break.” It’s just like what it sounds like; basically everyone takes a week off to go skiing! Unfortunately, I don’t know how to ski, but you can bet that I took the opportunity to check some places off my travel bucket list!

Winning London | Study Abroad Week 2 | London, England

A lot of fun things happened in Paris this last week, but those stories will have to wait for another day because I want to dedicate this blog post to my little weekend trip to London with my boyfriend, Mark! We have been dating for 6 and a ½ years (hehe yes we were just beginning high school!) and have always loved traveling together. He is also spending the semester studying abroad, but in Madrid, Spain. While not being together on a daily basis is definitely a change for us, it is so fun meeting up in different European cities! London got the privilege of being our first city in Europe together and it was really one of the best weekends ever! We both just loved the city. The architecture was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the people were so friendly! It was also nice to be in an English speaking country for a couple of days :P

Not All Who Wander Are Lost (but sometimes you actually are lost) | Study Abroad Week 1 | Paris, France

Bonjour from Paris!! Wow… I still can’t even believe that I’m living in Paris! It’s so surreal to be here and I’m not sure when, or if, it will ever settle in! First off, I want to say thank you to everyone who wished me safe travels and have supported me in my quest to study abroad. It was not an easy task arranging everything for this trip, but it has already been SO worth all of the stress and uncertainty. I’m really living a dream here and I am so excited to share my experiences and photos with everyone back home!

Emily + Johnny | Engaged | Jay's Tree Farm

Emily & Johnny’s love story is a classic one. They met at Purdue, rekindled their friendship after graduation, and after a few years of dating, Johnny was positive that she was the one. One evening at dinner, with the Indianapolis skyline in the background, Johnny got down on one knee and asked Emily to be his forever. She of course said “Yes!” and was soon met with another surprise -- a party with both of their families to celebrate the news!

Meg's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

The perfect golden hour, a wooden hut filled with weapons (I mean tools!), and a lush pink sunset... Meg's senior session has it all! There's so many aspects that go into planning and preparing for a senior session. My shoots are very casual, in the sense that we just have fun running around, chasing the light, and taking pictures. But there's a lot different aspects that go into the perfect shoot! There's deciding on outfits, hair and makeup, choosing a location that fits the senior's personal style, and hoping that all of the natural elements (wind, rain, bugs) don't misbehave! I never expect everything to go perfectly, but I have to say, Meg's shoot ended up being pretty close!

Meghan + Colin | A Timeless October Wedding | Kokomo

It's not very often that one gets to capture two weddings of two sisters in ONE YEAR! This past June, I captured Melissa's gorgeous rustic wedding, where I met her maid of honor and younger sister, Meghan, who was also getting married that year! We hit it off and shortly after the wedding, I became Meghan's wedding photographer as well! It was so fun to see their parents again, and meet Melissa's adorable little baby, Brody! To make this story even better, Melissa and Meghan both married men with "C" names -- Corey and Colin! This family has had a very exciting year and it was such a joy getting to know them and capture these milestones for them!

Lydia's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

So, as I'm writing this, it's snowing outside. Being originally from California, I'm a beach-bum at heart and am not a huge fan of winter... at all. Snow is pretty to look at, but I'd much prefer to be basking in the sunshine! Therefore, it's the perfect time to throw it back to Lydia's sunny and vibrant senior session! Lydia was another one of my fall seniors this year and was a blast to hangout with! She has a gorgeous smile plus a stunning serious face, and the most beautiful naturally curly hair (I'm seriously so jealous!)

Alyssa + Austin | An Autumn Backyard Wedding | Lafayette, Indiana

The groom sees his beautiful bride walking down the aisle and can't contain his emotions. The maid of honor gives her speech about watching her best friend fall in love with the man of her dreams. The bride and her father share their first dance and all of those childhood memories come flooding back. These are some of the moments of a wedding day that are such a joy to capture. See, I'm a complete romantic and as soon as I see someone tearing up during these moments, I'll start to lose it right along with them. As a wedding photographer, it's important to suck it up and keep shooting, but seeing those happy tears is just another reminder of how special my job is. Having the privilege of capturing the little pieces that make up a love story is an honor that will never get old.
