Golden Hour Engagement Session | Sydney & Christian | Noblesville, IN

Sydney & Christian’s love story is one of faithfulness. Christian knew a long time ago that Sydney was the one for him and everyone else thought the same! Though time and distance often got in the way, Christian continued to pursue Sydney. Eventually, their friendship blossomed into love. On an epic trip to the Philippines, with the clear blue waters in the background, Christian got down on one knee and asked Sydney to spend forever with him. She said yes and everyone’s been in celebration ever since!

Sunset Rustic Engagement Session | Katie & Brian | West Lafayette, IN

I cannot say enough about how awesome these two are and how much fun we had during their rustic fall engagement session in West Lafayette, Indiana. Not only are Katie & Brian the up-for-anything, laugh through the cold, kind of couple that I LOVE capturing, but they’re also crazy about each other. Wanna know just how in-love they are? Well here’s how Katie described her fiancé to me:

Classic Fall Engagement Session | Kristen & Eric | Indianapolis, IN

During their colorful fall engagement session in Holcomb Gardens, it was so apparent just HOW in love these two are. Throughout the shoot, Eric kept saying things like “I love the pictures where Kristen is laughing! Those are my favorite!” In all of the photos, it’s so easy to see all the love and admiration Eric has for Kristen, and vice-versa.

Downtown Chicago Senior Session | Anna

Any Star Wars fans here? I’ll admit I’m one! I can’t count the number of times I’ve been Princess Leia or Padme for Halloween :P If you’ve seen the movies, doesn’t the image above totally remind you of a scene from Naboo?! The columns, the ivy, the arched windows — it’s like we’re on set!

One of my favorite things about Chicago is that every corner can transport you to a totally different country, era, or even galaxy (lol okay I’m done geeking out now). That’s why I was so excited when Anna wanted to meet me in downtown Chitown for her senior session! We spent an evening running around the windy city, finding the best backgrounds, and chasing the sun. It was so much fun! I also loved getting to know Anna during her shoot. She is as sweet as can be and has the best style. Wait until you see the hat she brought; I’m obsessed with it! More Chicago shoots pleaseeeee!

Creekside Engagement Session | Danielle & Nik | West Lafayette, Indiana

There’s just something about playing in the creek on a warm Indiana summer night. The sunlight dances off the ripples as the water slowly moves over the muddy bottom. As the light fades, the fireflies begin to come out, creating the perfect setting for a romantic engagement session. One of the coolest things about Danielle & Nik’s relationship is that they have been dating for EIGHT years!

Sunny Summer Senior Session | Anne | West Lafayette

Anne's senior session was the perfect summer shoot -- blooming flowers, bright colors, and a gorgeous sunset to top it all off. I just love shooting during this time of year because everything is alive and flourishing! Anne just started her senior year at West Side (RDP!) and is a member of the school's golf team. For her shoot, we decided upon a mixture of town and rustic settings.

Maria's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

Even though the location and styling play a role in curating the perfect session; I always stay focused on the people I'm capturing to make them feel as amazing as they already are. I had so much fun hanging out with Maria and her mom a few weeks ago! We had to reschedule Maria's senior session a few times due to rain, but I'm so glad we waited for the right weather. We ended up shooting on the most beautiful September evening! Not only were the conditions perfect, but the company was great as well! Maria is so kind, intelligent, and has the best smile. I seriously love every single laughing shot I got of her (and there were a LOT) because she looked so genienly happy about life! I already know that Maria is going to do big things with her future, and I can't wait to see where her dreams will take her! Enjoy some of my favorite shots from her senior session!

Kylie's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

Fun Fact: all locations that we shot at were within a 5 minute walking radius of my apartment! Ever since falling in love with photography in junior high, I've always loved challenging myself to make use of whatever locations were around me. When you find a fountain, a vine covered church, a wooden wall, and a skyline view all in one spot, it's so easy for a two hour shoot to fly by, which is exactly what happened during Kylie's shoot!

Meg's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

The perfect golden hour, a wooden hut filled with weapons (I mean tools!), and a lush pink sunset... Meg's senior session has it all! There's so many aspects that go into planning and preparing for a senior session. My shoots are very casual, in the sense that we just have fun running around, chasing the light, and taking pictures. But there's a lot different aspects that go into the perfect shoot! There's deciding on outfits, hair and makeup, choosing a location that fits the senior's personal style, and hoping that all of the natural elements (wind, rain, bugs) don't misbehave! I never expect everything to go perfectly, but I have to say, Meg's shoot ended up being pretty close!

Gabi's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

I have another senior session to share today! This fall, I had the privilege of taking Gabi’s senior pictures and what a fun shoot it was! I’m especially excited to blog this session because of all of the variety we got! We were able to capture some gorgeous autumn leaves and bright blue skies while also getting some darker-toned, moodier shots.

Beth's Senior Pictures | Central Catholic

Indiana isn't necessarily known for it's gorgeous landscapes, but it does do fall pretty well ;) This fall we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather for weeks and weeks which made those golden leaves last extra long! Pretty much a photographer's dream weather! This also meant that I took as many seniors as I possibly could! I have a feeling that I'll be playing "catch-up" on all of these shoots well into winter break now. But if that means I can have a little escape from the cold and relive this past fall, I'm all for it!

Kelly's Senior Pictures | West Lafayette

Welcome to my first blog post! First off, I'm definitely not a writer. I admire those who are naturally well-spoken, but I am just not one of those people. I am a photographer though! So the purpose of this blog is to share more photos from my sessions and let them speak for themselves.

After finishing up Kelly's senior session, I KNEW that it had to be my first blog post.
