A Festive Christmas Wedding | Emily & Tyler | Lafayette, IN

I have a confession. It’s the middle of January and I’m definitely listening to jazzy Christmas music while writing this blog post. Only because this wedding was SO festive and going through these photos just made me wanna get back into the Christmas spirit! When Emily & Tyler got engaged December 1st, they knew they wanted to have a holly jolly wedding to celebrate their favorite holiday as well as their marriage. Exactly one year later, they tied the knot in the same church where Emily’s parents got married!

Downtown Chicago Senior Session | Anna

Any Star Wars fans here? I’ll admit I’m one! I can’t count the number of times I’ve been Princess Leia or Padme for Halloween :P If you’ve seen the movies, doesn’t the image above totally remind you of a scene from Naboo?! The columns, the ivy, the arched windows — it’s like we’re on set!

One of my favorite things about Chicago is that every corner can transport you to a totally different country, era, or even galaxy (lol okay I’m done geeking out now). That’s why I was so excited when Anna wanted to meet me in downtown Chitown for her senior session! We spent an evening running around the windy city, finding the best backgrounds, and chasing the sun. It was so much fun! I also loved getting to know Anna during her shoot. She is as sweet as can be and has the best style. Wait until you see the hat she brought; I’m obsessed with it! More Chicago shoots pleaseeeee!

Alyssa + Austin | An Autumn Backyard Wedding | Lafayette, Indiana

The groom sees his beautiful bride walking down the aisle and can't contain his emotions. The maid of honor gives her speech about watching her best friend fall in love with the man of her dreams. The bride and her father share their first dance and all of those childhood memories come flooding back. These are some of the moments of a wedding day that are such a joy to capture. See, I'm a complete romantic and as soon as I see someone tearing up during these moments, I'll start to lose it right along with them. As a wedding photographer, it's important to suck it up and keep shooting, but seeing those happy tears is just another reminder of how special my job is. Having the privilege of capturing the little pieces that make up a love story is an honor that will never get old.

Emma's Senior Pictures | Central Catholic

Meet Emma! She's a senior at Central Catholic High School and was a player for her school's soccer team (who made it to semi-state by the way -- so awesome!) For her senior session, we had a gorgeous fall day with the most amazing light at sundown. Occasionally, there was a gust of wind, but Emma has STUNNING long hair that blew with the breeze and just totally worked for the shot! Basically she's Pocahontas :)

Allie + Austin | A Lakeside Wedding | Morse Resevoir

The wedding took place on a serene, overcast, September afternoon at the South Harbour clubhouse on Morse Reservoir in Noblesville, Indiana. Friends and family were in attendance to celebrate the marriage of this light-hearted, joyful couple. It was truly a beautiful day. From the way he looks at her, and the way she snuggles into him, it is easy to see that these two are meant to be together. I hope you enjoy looking through these photos and getting a glimpse into Allie & Austin's love story!

Melissa + Corey | An Indiana Country Wedding

How Melissa & Corey met is definitely something out of a storybook. Melissa is an emergency room nurse and Corey is a paramedic for Purdue's Fire Department. He would drop off patients at the hospital, and she would care for them inside. Over time, they began getting to know each other more and more, and before you know it, they were engaged! It's just too perfect how their lives lined up through helping others :)

As winter break is coming to end, I'm trying to cram in as much as I possibly can before classes start again. Beth's Senior Pictures | Central Catholic

Indiana isn't necessarily known for it's gorgeous landscapes, but it does do fall pretty well ;) This fall we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather for weeks and weeks which made those golden leaves last extra long! Pretty much a photographer's dream weather! This also meant that I took as many seniors as I possibly could! I have a feeling that I'll be playing "catch-up" on all of these shoots well into winter break now. But if that means I can have a little escape from the cold and relive this past fall, I'm all for it!
