Alyssa + Austin | An Autumn Backyard Wedding | Lafayette, Indiana

The groom sees his beautiful bride walking down the aisle and can't contain his emotions. The maid of honor gives her speech about watching her best friend fall in love with the man of her dreams. The bride and her father share their first dance and all of those childhood memories come flooding back. These are some of the moments of a wedding day that are such a joy to capture. See, I'm a complete romantic and as soon as I see someone tearing up during these moments, I'll start to lose it right along with them. As a wedding photographer, it's important to suck it up and keep shooting, but seeing those happy tears is just another reminder of how special my job is. Having the privilege of capturing the little pieces that make up a love story is an honor that will never get old.

This wedding in particular was filled with many of those beautiful moments and happy tears. Alyssa married Austin on a perfect October afternoon in her mother's backyard. It was a simple day complete with a classic lace dress, navy blue suit, and sweet vows filled with promises of everlasting love. After getting to know Alyssa & Austin over the past year,  I knew how special it was for them to have all of their family together to witness their wedding day.  It was so easy to see the love and joy within their families.  Alyssa's bouquet also featured a small portrait of her and her late sister, so that she too, could be a part of the wedding day. It was truly a very special day. Between their son, Liam, munching on his daddy's boutonniere flowers, to the new couple dancing the night away with their closest friends, the wedding was also filled with lots of smiles and laughter. Here are some of my favorite moments from this love story, so enjoy getting a peak into their beautiful autumn wedding.

Alyssa and her bridesmaids were stunning! Their dresses were perfect and I'm obsessed with their gorgeous bouquets!

Austin and his guys looked dashing as well!

When Alyssa walked down the aisle, I don't think there was a dry eye in the backyard!  Their ceremony was undoubtedly one of my favorites I've ever captured :)

The ceremony was timed so perfectly right before sunset that we had the most gorgeous light ever for their bride and groom portraits.

Make sure you get a good look at Austin's face during the cake cutting -- haha, it's easy to see what he's thinking!

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Mitchell! Thank you for allowing me to capturing your special day and I cannot wait to see your adorable little family grow!
